What do Reflexologists Do?
Let’s take a look at what reflexologists aim to do, how we do it and how that might benefit you.
What do Reflexologists aim to do?
Reflexologists offer a hands on, holistic, drugs free, natural health treatment that aims to bring balance and good flow back into your mind, body and soul. We believe that if all is in balance then you have the best chance for good health. We support people through all stages of life as we navigate life’s challenges and health issues.
What do Reflexologists do in a session?
Initially a reflexologist will carry out a consultation to check that reflexology is suitable for you and to get an overview of your physical health and lifestyle.
Reflexologists offer treatments on feet, hands, and face. You will discuss with your reflexologist which is most appealing or suitable. For people with hard working hands a hand reflexology session will ease the tightness and aches as well as providing a holistic health therapy. If you have injury to your feet or ankles or have trouble reclining, then hands or face would be a great choice. It is up to you and many people try all forms to see which we like best.
After the consultation we will make you comfortable in a reclining chair or on a treatment table. Once you are settled, we will begin applying pressure to specific points on your feet, hands, face or ear, these are known as reflexes. Reflexes are believed to correspond to different organs, structures or systems. A reflexologist will work these reflexes in precise way with their thumbs, fingers or knuckles. Through direct pressure or stimulation of the reflexes the reflexologist will prompt the corresponding parts to re-balance and regain their natural flow.
How might a Reflexologist benefit you?
If you are looking for a perfectly natural, often deeply relaxing way to maintain your good health or need support with an existing condition then booking in with a reflexologist is a great complementary therapy option. We will provide you with 1-1 attention and a non-invasive treatment that can be safely used alongside standard health care to promote better health.
People often report that reflexology helps
- Improve sleep
- Alleviate anxiety and symptoms of stress
- Give comfort during periods of upset and challenge
- Boost sense of well being
